TITLE : CONFIGURING QUATTRO PRO FOR A MONOCHROME
OR BLACK & WHITE VGA SYSTEM
Due to the nature of the the Virtual Graphics Adapter (VGA)
displays, it is impossible for Quattro Pro to automatically
detect when a Monochrome or Black & White monitor is being used.
Therefore, one of the two following setup procedures will
configure Quattro Pro for use with non color VGA displays. Try
both of the following procedures. One of the two will work for
your system.
Setting Up for a Monochrome Display
1. At the DOS prompt, type: MODE MONO
2. Make the Quattro Pro directory the current DOS directory
by using CD (for example, CD \QPRO if Quattro Pro is
installed in a directory called QPRO).
3. Type the following command to run Quattro Pro: Q /IM
(or Q123 /IM if you wish to use the 1-2-3 Compatible Menu
Tree).
4. If the screen goes blank at this point, press <Ctrl><X> to
return to the DOS prompt. You must use Setting Up for a
Black & White Display below.
5. If the display comes up properly at this point, then do
the following if using the Quattro Pro Menu Tree:
a. Select: / Options, Hardware, Screen, Screen Type,
J. VGA
b. Select: Quit
c. Select: Colors, Palettes, Monochrome
d. Select: Quit, Quit, Update, Quit
6. Do the following if using the Lotus Compatible Menu Tree:
a. Select: / Worksheet, Global, Default, Hardware,
